TBAS2

As we have previously communicated with practices UKFC, along with IVC, Obligace and Vet Partners, are now contract holders for the second generation TB Advisory Service. Our aim is to ensure that as many private vets as possible are in a position to deliver TBAS visits to their clients. The contract now allows for two fully funded farm visits to discuss ways that keepers can improve their resilience to a bTB breakdown. The visits can cover non bovine species as well as bovines, and are now available to keepers in the Low Risk Area of England as well as those in the HRA and Edge. Keepers who received a visit under the original TBAS can have further visits under the new contract. Almost 300 vets have either booked or attended TBAS training already which is fantastic uptake amongst the veterinary community. We do have need for further advisors in particularly the LRA of England and would urge practices in that area to enrol at least one of their vets onto the forthcoming training. Details of this can be found at Advisers – TB Advisory Service (tbas.org.uk)
